Vitale assisted Banca del Fucino in the subscription of a strategic agreement with Worldline in the merchant acquiring sector

October 05, 2023 – Worldline, global leader in payment services, and Banca del Fucino, Roman bank with over 100 years of history, signed a long-term strategic partnership regarding the merchant acquiring business of Banca del Fucino.

The merchant acquiring business of Banca del Fucino includes more than 3,000 merchants and approximately 5,500 POS (point of sales) that generated transactions of about EUR 500 million in 2022. 

The agreement includes the transfer to Worldline's Italian subsidiary of Banca del Fucino’s merchant acquiring business on the domestic payment scheme and a contextual long-term commercial partnership for the distribution of Worldline's payment products and services through the network of Banca del Fucino. 

The transaction values the territorial presence of Banca del Fucino and guarantees technological and commercial synergies in terms of innovation and evolution of the product portfolio to the benefit of the Bank's clients.

The consideration agreed for the transaction is EUR 25 million.

As part of the transaction, Banca del Fucino and Worldline will sign a long-term commercial agreement for the distribution of Worldline's acquiring services to merchants through the 36 branches of Banca del Fucino. 

The closing is expected within the next three months and is subject to the required authorisations of the relevant authorities.
